was born in the province of Bologna in 2007.
The Visionvet structure is dedicated to a single discipline: Animal Ophthalmology.
Our doctors have passionately chosen to specialize in the profession of veterinary ophthalmologist to provide the best service to patients: dogs, cats and horses, but not only, among the cases treated we also find birds, reptiles, rabbits, primates and many other exotic animals .
We are specialists in veterinary ophthalmology, therefore in the treatment of Ocular Pathologies: we treat cases of cataracts, glaucoma, retinal detachment, uveitis, damage to the cornea, and more.
The Center is located in a modern residential complex in the center of the triangle formed by Bologna, Ferrara and Modena, easily reachable from all regions.
The Center is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. For instrumental diagnostics, the following are available:

- Biomicroscopy
- Direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy
- Retinoscopy
- Electroretinography
- Gonioscopy
- Melan 100
- Electronic tonometry
- Ocular ultrasound
- Ocular cytology
As for the equipment necessary for medical-surgical therapy, we have:
- Operating microscope
- Phacoemulsifier with intraocular lens implantation for cataract reduction
- Cryosurgery for the treatment of secondary disorders of eyelashes and neoplasms
- Laser for the treatment of tumors and cysts, glaucoma and retinal detachment
- Melan 100 for the diagnosis of blindness
- Microsurgery instruments of various kinds
- Gonioimplants for the treatment of glaucoma
We now carry out treatments with the corneal Cross Linking technique, also known as Photodynamic Therapy, indicated for a wide variety of pathologies with the additional benefit of destroying all microorganisms present at the corneal level, valid in dogs, cats and horses.
While in the human field it is now a widespread treatment, in veterinary medicine there are few clinics able to offer it, and in Italy we are the only ones!

The STAFF is made up of veterinary specialists and experienced assistants.
Thanks to our tools and our twenty-year experience in the sector we are able to surgically intervene on cataracts, severe keratopathies, glaucoma, retinal detachments and solve many other problems.
For the most part we receive cases reported by external colleagues who need our consultation to help them in the diagnosis or treatment of the ocular pathology in progress.
The Eye is an extremely delicate structure; dioptric means such as the Cornea and the Crystalline must remain intact and transparent so that the light stimulus can be transformed into sight. The retina, as subtle as it is specialized, is able to function only in normal anatomical and physiological conditions. Unfortunately, sometimes we are not given a lot of time; consequently, timeliness is often rewarded so that vision and ocular anatomical integrity can be saved.
Among the services offered, we also include international certification according to the FSA-SOVI-ECVO protocol for hereditary ocular diseases.
In addition, we offer the possibility of a one-month internship with possible accommodation in our facility, to allow you to closely observe the world of ophthalmology.

Opening days: the clinical-surgical activity in this Center takes place mainly on Tuesdays and Fridays. However, we guarantee an emergency service 24 hours a day for urgent and serious cases.
However, specialists also work in other Veterinary Centers, located in different regions.
